This command generates a list of adapters using bus I/O that looks similar to
the following:
O fda bus_io_addr x3f - x3f5
O fda bus_io_addr2 x3f7
O ppa bus_io_addr x3bc - x3be
O sa bus_io_addr x3f8 - x3ff
O sa1 bus_io_addr x2f8 - x2ff
O sioka bus_io_addr 1 x6
O sioma bus_io_addr 1 x6
O ampx bus_io_addr x2a - x2a6
O sa2 bus_io_addr x14 - x17
ent bus_io_addr x3 - x31f
O scsi bus_io_addr xf - xfff
O scsi1 bus_io_addr x1 - x1ff
5. Select a Bus I/O Address that is not currently in use.
6. If any ISA adapter is installed, check for available Bus Memory values by
entering the following command:
lsresource -l bus -a | grep bus_mem
This command generates a list of adapters using different Bus Memory
Addresses that looks similar to the following:
B ampx bus_mem_addr xe - xe1fff
B apm bus_mem_addr xe2 - xe3fff
B ent bus_mem_addr xc - xc3fff
B gga bus_mem_start x1 - x1ffffff
7. Select a Bus Memory that is not currently in use.
The valid Bus Memory values for use with the ISA Ethernet Adapter start at
0xc0000 and increment by 0x04000. For example, they are 0xc4000, 0xc8000,
and so on. The previous example shows ent is using the first Bus Memory
range of 0Xc0000.
8. Install the ISA Ethernet Adapter device driver and diagnostic by choosing:
smit isa
Install ISA Adapter Software
to install the fileset
device.isa.ethernet
9. After installing the software, you might enter:
smit isa
Add an ISA Adapter
10. Select ethernet isa IBM Ethernet ISA Adapter from the SMIT pop-up menu.
11. Select bus1 Available ISA Bus from the following SMIT pop-up menu.
12. From the menu described in Figure 40 on page 128, select the correct
Interrupt Level, Bus I/O Address, Bus Memory and Media Type values, and
press Enter.
